The right to health is a fundamental right recognized by Cameroon through international laws, yet its effectiveness is challenged by the local context. This study adopts a critical approach, analyzing national and international legal texts ratified by Cameroon, and confronting them with the country’s socio-economic, political, and cultural realities. It reveals that despite clear formal recognition, the right to health in Cameroon remains largely ineffective for a significant portion of the population, particularly due to the impacts of Structural Adjustment Programs and environmental failures.
