Analysis of the effects of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on the labor market in the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC)

This paper analyzes the effects of the AfCFTA on trade and employment in the CEMAC zone, finding that while trade has not significantly increased since 2019, there is a negative relationship between trade flows and unemployment, suggesting that deeper trade integration could help reduce joblessness in the region.

Cet article analyse les effets de la ZLECA sur le commerce et l’emploi dans la zone CEMAC, constatant que même si le commerce n’a pas augmenté de manière significative depuis 2019, il existe une relation négative entre les flux commerciaux et le chômage, ce qui suggère qu’une intégration commerciale plus approfondie pourrait contribuer à réduire le chômage dans la région.
