This study undertakes the first revision of the African genus Crotonogyne (Euphorbiaceae) since 1912, a crucial step given the difficulties in identifying new specimens. It aims to clarify the genus’s taxonomy and provide a solid basis for the Flora of Gabon. The methodology followed classical herbarium taxonomy practices, analyzing specimens from major collections such as BM, BR, and WAG, with geolocated data used for distribution maps. Key results include the recognition of eleven species, including two new ones (C. micrantha and C. neglecta), and the elevation of a subspecies to specific rank. The study offers a comprehensive taxonomic treatment with an identification key, detailed illustrations, and distribution maps, confirming the genus’s prevalence in the Guineo-Congolian region.
