Ce décret présidentiel vise à transformer la Société « Energy Of Cameroon » (ENEO Cameroon S.A.) en une société à capital public, la Société Camerounaise d’Électricité (SOCADEL), pour restructurer le secteur de l’électricité au Cameroun. S’appuyant sur la Constitution, l’Acte Uniforme OHADA et diverses lois nationales, ce texte établit le nouveau statut juridique de la SOCADEL. Il définit son objet social, incluant la production et la distribution d’énergie électrique, et précise son organisation, sa tutelle, ses ressources financières et patrimoniales, marquant une étape clé dans la gestion publique de l’énergie.
This presidential decree aims to transform the company « Energy Of Cameroon » (ENEO Cameroon S.A.) into a public capital company, the Cameroonian Electricity Company (SOCADEL), to restructure the electricity sector in Cameroon. Based on the Constitution, the OHADA Uniform Act, and various national laws, this text establishes SOCADEL’s new legal status. It defines its corporate purpose, including electricity production and distribution, and specifies its organization, oversight, financial and patrimonial resources, marking a key step in public energy management.
